Since its opening in 1961, "Oyado Toho" has been the largest ryokan in Higashiyama Onsen.
We are a local hot spring ryokan that is closely connected to the local community, and aim to provide services that satisfy our guests and make them feel more familiar with our inn.

History of Higashiyama Onsen and Oyado Toho

Higashiyama Onsen is said to have been founded about 1,300 years ago by the famous priest Gyoki, and is one of the three favorite hot spring resorts in Oshu.

The gentle hot spring water that warms the heart to the core continues to spring up even today, and was much loved by such ink masters as Yumeji Takehisa and Akiko Yosano, as well as heroes at the end of the Edo period such as Toshizo Hijikata.

Since its opening in 1961, Oyado Toho has welcomed guests with a spirit of gratitude for more than half a century.

It is the most relaxing inn in Aizu, combining the warm hospitality of the Aizu people with refined hospitality. We always welcome travelers on the Aizu road with kindness.

October 2006	Opened the open-air baths "Sora no Yu" and "Tanakumo no Yu", the chapel "Ruiru", and the temple "Yakumoden".
April 2011	Opening of the buffet restaurant "Agaranjo".
April 1, 2015	Renovated the lobby and introduced 3D projection mapping in the main banquet.
March 2016	Renewal opening of the Suzaku-tei 5th floor.
August 2019	Renewal opening of the Tower Pavilion (upper floors).
April 2020	Renewal opening of Suzaku-tei (3rd and 4th floors).

Regardless of the check-in time of your stay plan, you can enter the ryokan from 13:30.
You can take a bath, use the "Sesenagi" (after bathing) and the lobby lounge during the time before your check-in time.
Hokkaido Haskap water, barley tea, and popsicles are available at the "Sesenagi" after bathing,
The Lobby Lounge offers hot coffee, oolong tea, and other cold beverages,
